William began working at the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park in 1991 and became an elephant keeper shortly thereafter.  He was immediately drawn to the amazing and awesome animals.  The time he spent with them gave him the opportunity to observe the complexity and variety of behavior and personalities, allowing him to bring their essence to life on paper and canvas.
